Job summary

First Point Group is seeking a Network Engineer to operate, implement, and troubleshoot our IP/MPLS backbone and customer-facing network services. This on-site role demands hands-on routing and switching expertise.

You will work with BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS, VLANs, and WAN services, coordinating with NOC and carriers during incidents and deployments. TN visa sponsorship is available for relocation to the United States.

Qualifications

• Experience in ISP or service-provider environment.
• Hands-on with Juniper platforms and devices.
• Knowledge of DDoS detection and mitigation, NETSCOUT Arbor preferred.
• General firewall, VPN, and wireless/Access Point basics.
• Network automation or scripting is a plus.
• Understanding DWDM/OTN for troubleshooting and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and carrier-grade network services.
• Support BGP/eBGP, Internet routing, route policies, prefix advertisements, and external peerings.
• Work with OSPF and/or IS-IS, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, VLANs, QinQ, and Layer 2/Layer 3 services.
• Troubleshoot complex backbone and customer service issues.
• Support network changes, migrations, maintenance activities, and new service deployments.
• Manage escalations with carriers, transit providers, equipment vendors, data centers, and other third parties.
• Maintain network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with the NOC, Operations, customers, and other engineering teams during incidents and implementations.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an ISP, telecommunications carrier, or service-provider environment.
• Hands-on experience with Juniper or related platforms.
• Knowledge of DDoS detection and mitigation, preferably NETSCOUT Arbor or similar solutions.
• General knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and wireless/Access Point solutions.
• Network automation or scripting experience is a plus.
• General understanding of DWDM, OTN, and optical transport is desirable for troubleshooting and coordination purposes.
