Job Description

Commodity Analyst - MRO

• Work Location: Remote (home office) or on-site (Torreón).

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Procurement leadership team, the Commodity Analyst - MRO is responsible for supporting the sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities related to Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO), indirect materials, services, and operational support requirements.

This role partners with internal stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, Facilities, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services while driving cost savings, supplier performance, spend visibility, and sourcing efficiency. The Commodity Analyst leverages data analysis, market intelligence, and supplier collaboration to support business objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing and procurement activities for MRO categories, indirect materials, and operational services.
• Work with international teams.
• Experience in data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development using Power BI, Advanced Excel, and similar business intelligence tools.
• Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations using Power BI and Excel to provide visibility to stakeholders and leadership.
• Analyze category spend, supplier performance, and purchasing trends to identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
• Support and execute RFQ/RFP activities, including supplier communication, bid analysis, commercial comparisons, and sourcing recommendations.
• Research market conditions, industry trends, and supplier capabilities to support strategic sourcing decisions.
• Leverage automation technology to optimize procurement processes to optimize team efficiency
• Create and manage purchase orders through Oracle or other ERP systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
• Track procurement savings, PPV (Purchase Price Variance), and category performance against established objectives.
• Perform spend analysis, supplier benchmarking, and year-over-year purchasing comparisons to support sourcing strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand procurement requirements and ensure continuity of supply.
• Maintain accurate supplier, spend, contract, and sourcing data within procurement systems and reporting tools.
• Become a subject matter expert on MRO requisition processes by partnering cross functionally to understand purchasing needs, habits and gaps.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a related field.

Experience Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, Supplier Development, Purchasing, or related functions.
• Experience supporting MRO procurement, indirect purchasing, or supplier management activities preferred.
• Experience supporting US based teams preferred.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.

Technical Knowledge

• Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
• Experience working with international teams.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, data analysis, dashboards, and advanced formulas.

Job Description

Position Summary

Evaluate, define, and develop North America Region (NAR) Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) supplies capable of supporting the Torreon Facility. Lead and close commercial initiatives with selected suppliers, define sourcing strategies, and drive implementation in collaboration with key stakeholders. Support and maintain the supplier base during ramp-up activities and ongoing production operations, including supplier escalations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for MRO categories, indirect materials, services, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers capable of supporting current and future business needs.
• Own supplier relationships, including contract management, pricing negotiations, performance management, risk mitigation, and commercial issue resolution.
• Lead RFQ/RFP processes, analyze supplier proposals, and recommend sourcing decisions based on quality, cost, service, and operational requirements.
• Establish and maintain reliable sources of supply to ensure uninterrupted support for manufacturing operations.
• Drive cost reduction, productivity improvement, deflation initiatives, and value engineering opportunities.
• Perform spend analysis, market research, supplier benchmarking, and cost breakdown analysis to support strategic negotiations and sourcing decisions.
• Completes data analyses and generates reports to drive spend visibility and identify opportunities for supply base optimization.
• Monitor supplier performance through scorecards and KPI management while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement requirements and align sourcing strategies with business objectives.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field.
• Advanced English proficiency required.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, APICS, or equivalent are considered a plus.
• Specific coursework in purchasing, materials management, engineering, or quality assurance desirable.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Commodity Management, Supply Chain, or related roles.

Job Description

Your Role on our Team

Under the direction of and reporting to the Procurement Director, the primary duties are to support the development and implementation of sourcing strategies related to applicable indirect categories including maintenance, operations, and repair for our manufacturing facilities as well as associated ongoing supplier relationship management. Scope primarily includes purchased services and indirect stock and non-stock inventory products. Develop and execute cost reduction plans to meet or exceed stated objectives. Own supplier relationships including negotiations, business awards, contracting (including development agreements), scorecards, risk mitigation, and problem resolution (capacity/cost/quality).

This position requires a high degree of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality. You will report to the Procurement organization but be based in the region where you will own the relationship at the sites. Tasks and projects that address broader organization-wide issues outside of the procurement department may be assigned.

You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities

• Develop and execute cross-functionally aligned sourcing strategies for maintenance, repair, and operations purchases. Develop and execute prioritized plans to implement the strategies
• Negotiate and manage complex business agreements and contracts.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of sourcing & procurement projects, working closely with suppliers and internal customers from planning & bid preparation to budget/forecasting, general delivery specs, negotiation, contracting, invoicing, and reporting
• Prepare and execute RFP/RFQ's and analyze quotations and bids. Conduct, analyze, and share cost break down analysis to aide negotiations of per unit cost, commanding best overall cost and commercial terms
• Build partnerships with internal stakeholders to gather and/or understand the requirements of their procurement needs; facilitate communication between business units, internal stakeholders, and suppliers
• Must be able to quickly identify and obtain expertise in assigned categories and understand the relevant manufacturing, ordering, and/or service processes and capabilities, materials, applications, and industry trends
• Conduct research on market dynamics, cost drivers, supplier business models, and historical spend to enhance negotiations for assigned categories and contracts
• Evaluate existing sources for applicable capabilities, quality systems, management and financial stability, cost competitiveness, responsiveness, collaboration, and innovation

• Initiate necessary correspondence or personal contact to expedite purchased goods, revise purchase orders, effect cancellations, etc.
• Lead business reviews with key suppliers.

• 10 or more years of sourcing or related experience, including proven capability using advanced procurement principles with global supply chain management responsibilities
• Strategic sourcing experience with indirect spend categories including maintenance, repair, and operations.
• Must exhibit strong negotiating skills and demonstrate proven success negotiating, implementing, and managing supply agreements
