Collins Aerospace Mexicali is seeking a results-driven Engineering Team Leader to supervise a group of technicians and business support staff. You will set daily goals, participate in hiring, and coordinate resources to ensure cost-effective operations while reporting on project performance to stakeholders.

The role requires a university degree in Electronics or Mechatronics, at least 5 years of relevant leadership experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with SAP. Occasional U.S.

  • Typically requires a University Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics or related engineering field and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a leadership or management role, including direct responsibility for managing and developing a team of direct reports.
  • English Proficiency. Evidence of English proficiency (e.g., certifications such as TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent experience in professional environments) will be considered an advantage.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and analyze complex spreadsheets, utilize advanced formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, nested formulas), develop pivot tables, and create data visualizations to track performance metrics.

  • Support project management based on business needs; may be required to support other duties/functions within the company.
  • Actively participate in root cause/corrective actions and in obtaining quality and regulatory certifications.
  • Coordinate or provide trainings for technicians and design development plans for employees.
  • Attend technical meetings with service requestors and communicate updates in English to stakeholders.
  • Schedule resources to ensure cost effectiveness and coordinate activities; participate in budget and staffing management.

What You Will Do:
  • Supervises a team of primarily entry and intermediate Technicians / Business Support employees, with flexibility to determine how assignments are completed (e.g., objectives and approaches to completing work).
  • Sets day-to-day goals and objectives for team members.
  • Participate in hiring process of new employees, transfers, promotions, salary actions and terminations.
  • Support project management based on business needs; may be required to support other duties/functions within the company.
  • Actively participate in initiatives for Root Cause/Corrective Actions using Quality tools and support.
  • Actively participate in obtaining Quality and Regulatory Certifications.
  • Coordinates or provide technicians with theorical and on the job trainings, performing systematic reviews and adjustments of the plan.
  • Design, discuss, and implement employees' development plans.
  • Participates in technical meeting with service requestors.
  • Schedules resources to ensure cost effectiveness and coordination of activities.
  • Performs and assist in the management of budget, staffing and or business/operations results.
  • Ensure employees follow the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to interact with various stakeholders, including teams and counterparts in the United States, as well as to deliver presentations, participate in meetings, and provide updates on projects and operational metrics
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills by effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams, leading technicians, and delivering clear and impactful presentations to stakeholders
  • Occasional travel to the U.S. may be required depending on business needs.
Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and analyze complex spreadsheets, utilize advanced formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, nested formulas), develop pivot tables, and create data visualizations (e.g., charts and graphs) to track performance metrics, manage capacity planning, and support operational decision-making.
Qualifications We Preferred:
  • Preferably with professional experience in the electronics sector or in roles within technology-driven industries, including manufacturing, electronics design, or related fields
  • Proven experience working with MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) regulatory certifications and standards, such as FAA, EASA, or other equivalent aviation authority requirements, including hands-on involvement in ensuring compliance, preparing for audits, or managing certification processes
  • Experience with SAP.
