Job Description Summary

Come join the Passport20 team! The Passport20 platform has 3 engine models, more than 800 customers and over 6,000 engines flying. It’s also the only Aviation program fully supported by GEIQ: Repair, Mechanical Design, Performance, Controls, Analysis, PDE, PSE, Systems and more. The Passport20 Repair team has ownership across the Passport20 engine line covering all Turbomachinery Modules.

We are looking for an engineer skilled and passionate on the engineering and repair discipline.

A Repair Engineer 3 leads repair development projects and performs identified duties related to assigned hardware components, processes, or systems in a multi-functional team environment. Also provides key technical direction of several projects with business impact. The Repair Engineer owns all aspects related to the repair of their assigned hardware including repair development, departure records/inquiries and MRO shop support in accordance with Repair Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Execute the assigned repair projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Coach and mentor others in the development and or integration related to assigned hardware or projects to meet business standards, practices and procedures and meet the product/program requirements from Repair Technology perspective.
  • Effectively communicate and provide recommendations for departure records and inquiries to internal and external GE customers through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data.
  • Provide the engineering technical support to cross functional teams to improve or resolve repair development, manufacturing, supplier or field issues.
  • Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned hardware components related to repair processes consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures.
  • Monitor and communicate project status, significant developments and obstacles identified during repair development and industrialization process.
  • Understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work and support others.
  • May have autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Lead the solution of complex technical problems and the implementation of the development of repair components and processes.
  • Utilize Lean tools to improve current business products and processes.
  • Concurrently work on multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring schedule requirements are met.
  • Check own and other people’s work.
  • Recognized technical expert in relevant engineering domain.
  • Conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.
  • Effectively communicate and provide recommendations to internal customers through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
  • Familiar with gas turbine engine operation.
  • Proven experience as Lead Mechanical Engineer with knowledge in Stress, Solid mechanics, GD&T, Basic stack ups, Fracture mechanics, Bolted Joint, Material Properties, Manufacturing processes.
  • Communication skills: strong and effective oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish. Ability to document, plan and execute programs.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing projects across functions and ability to communicate with Senior Leadership.
  • Capable of coaching and influence others to accomplish assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability in establishing common goals and objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and project management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with minimal guidance.
  • Proven analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Basic Knowledge and awareness of regulatory agencies process.
Desired Characteristics
  • Repair manufacturing process knowledge applicable to Aviation engines industry.
  • Aviation engines knowledge.
  • Master’s degree in related engineering field is a plus.
