General Motors in Toluca, Mexico, seeks a Metallurgical Quality Engineer for a 12-month temporary role to support vehicle engineering and QA processes. You will monitor quality metrics, document readiness reviews, and participate in quality management meetings, driving improvements and ensuring conformance to standards.

• Support vehicle engineering in implementing quality requirements.

• Maintain documentation of Launch Quality Readiness Reviews.
• Participate in Plant and Launch Quality Manager meetings.
• Manage projects from the Quality Shop Director.
• Apply GM Quality System, GMS BIQ, and Quality Launch Plan.
• Know Global Quality Manual requirements.
• Coach and audit GM Quality Manual elements.
• Provide direct, constructive feedback to staff and leadership.
• Present plant and engineering staff with clear problem definitions and updates.
• Support launch of new products in plant when applicable.
• Maintain updates to Quality Requirements.
• Maintain Quality Requirement deviations by plant.
• Maintain Cost of Quality reports by plant.

Metallurgical Quality Engineer- Temporary Position for 12 Months

Key Responsibilities

• Support vehicle engineering in the Implementation of the Quality Requirements.
• Monitor consistency to Global Metric Definitions and Performance.
• Maintain documentation of Launch Manufacturing Quality Readiness Reviews.
• Actively participate in Plant Quality Manager Meetings & Launch Quality Manager Meetings.
• Manage projects as requested from Quality Shop Director.
• Proficiency and knowledge of the elements of the GM Quality System / GMS BIQ and of the Quality Launch Plan.
• Proficiency and knowledge of the requirements in the Global Quality Manual.
• Ability to coach, teach and audit elements of GM Quality Manual and GMS BIQ Principle and Elements.
• Managerial Courage to provide direct, honest, constructive feedback to Plant Staffs / Executive Leadership in a subtle and professional manner.
• Present the Assembly Plant and Engineering Staff with clear problem definition, technical mentorship on complex problems, and regular updates on progress.
• Support Launch of new products in the plant when applicable.
• Maintain updates to Quality Requirements.
• Maintain Quality Requirement deviations from plants.
• Maintain Cost of Quality reports by Plant.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
• Minimum one year of relevant professional experience.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
• Availability to work on-site in Toluca on a 4x3 rotating-shift schedule.

• IATF requirements and standards.
• PPAP process knowledge is preferred.
