General Motors in Toluca, Mexico, seeks a Manufacturing Quality Engineer (Metallurgical) for a 12-month temporary position. You will support vehicle engineering by enforcing quality requirements and leading quality readiness reviews.

The role requires a Metallurgical Engineering degree, 1+ year of experience, and solid knowledge of GM quality systems. On-site work with a 4x3 rotating shift is required for this assignment.

Formación

Responsabilidades

• Support vehicle engineering in the implementation of the quality requirements.
• Monitor consistency to Global Metric Definitions and Performance; maintain launch QMR docs.
• Participate in Plant QM and Launch QM meetings.
• Manage projects as directed by Quality Shop Director.
• Know GM Quality System, GMS BIQ and Quality Launch Plan; apply quality standards.

Job Description

Metallurgical Quality Engineer- Temporary Position for 12 Months

Key Responsibilities

• Support vehicle engineering in the Implementation of the Quality Requirements.
• Monitor consistency to Global Metric Definitions and Performance. Maintain documentation of Launch Manufacturing Quality Readiness Reviews.
• Actively participate in Plant Quality Manager Meetings & Launch Quality Manager Meetings.
• Manage projects as requested from Quality Shop Director.
• Proficiency and knowledge of the elements of the GM Quality System / GMS BIQ and of the Quality Launch Plan.
• Proficiency and knowledge of the requirements in the Global Quality Manual.
• Ability to coach, teach and audit elements of GM Quality Manual and GMS BIQ Principle and Elements. Managerial Courage to provide direct, honest, constructive feedback to Plant Staffs / Executive Leadership in a subtle and professional manner
• Present the Assembly Plant and Engineering Staff with clear problem definition, technical mentorship on complex problems, and regular updates on progress.
• Support Launch of new products in the plant when applicable.
• Maintain updates to Quality Requirements.
• Maintain Quality Requirement deviations from plants. Maintain Cost of Quality reports by Plant.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
• Minimum one year of relevant professional experience.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
• Availability to work on-site in Toluca on a 4x3 rotating-shift schedule.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

• IATF requirements and standards.
• PPAP process knowledge is preferred.

Leadership and Behavioral Competencies
