Job summary

Flex is seeking a Materials Manager to be located in Guadalajara. You will oversee material planning, inventory control, and purchasing while coordinating with production and suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective material flow.

Reporting to the Director, Materials, you’ll lead a team, optimize processes, support NPI and sustaining operations, and drive improvements across electronics manufacturing activities in a global context.

Qualifications

• BA/BS/MBA in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Strong background in materials planning and purchasing within electronics manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting NPI and sustaining operations, with direct people management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
• Manage, control, and direct staff involved in distribution of inventory to the production line.
• Direct staff to achieve Materials profit and loss goals including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost, maintaining quality standards.
• Negotiate with customers and manage staff to meet expectations and satisfaction.
• Coordinate with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers.
• Oversee excess and obsolete materials disposition and inventory controls.
• Maintain accurate inventory cycle counts, and proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and material control systems.
• Review and approve purchase orders and change notices; verify conformance to policy.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Materials Manager located in Guadalajara.

Reporting to the Director, Materials, the Materials Manager role will be responsiblefor direct and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in some or all of the following areas: material planning, distribution, inventory control, material research, purchasing and supply chain management by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

What a typical day looks like:

• Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
• Manages, controls, and directs the activities and staff involved in the distribution of inventory to the production line.
• Manages, controls, and directs staff to achieve Materials profit and loss goals including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
• Ensures the timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost, consistent with quality standards, affecting quality by assuring that suspicious material is identified, and that material is handled, stored, and delivered properly.
• Ensures a high degree of customer satisfaction through negotiations of customer expectations and managing and directing staff activities required to meet this expectation.
• Coordinates with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers.
• Manages controls and directs the actions for excess and obsoletes.
• In charge of accurate inventory cycle counts, and controls.
• Provides for the proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
• Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures and material control systems.
• Reviews, plans, and approves purchase orders and change notices.
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• In charge of disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
