Flex is a diversified manufacturing partner helping market-leading brands design, build, and deliver innovative products. We are seeking a Materials Manager in Guadalajara to lead material planning, purchasing, and inventory control for a dynamic electronics manufacturing site.

Reporting to the Director of Materials, you will coordinate planning, optimize inventory, and drive value through strong negotiation with customers and suppliers while guiding a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• BA/BS/MBA in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Strong background in materials planning and purchasing in electronics manufacturing environments.
• Experience with NPI and sustaining operations and direct people management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site-wide planning activities.
• Direct inventory distribution to the production line.
• Achieve materials P&L goals by minimizing excess/obsolete inventory.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials at lowest cost while meeting quality.
• Negotiate with customers and suppliers to meet expectations.
• Collaborate with customers, purchasing, project, operations, and warehouse managers.
• Manage and dispose of excess/obsolete materials and conduct cycle counts.
• Oversee shipping and documentation of finished goods.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Materials Manager located in Guadalajara.

Reporting to the Director, Materials, the Materials Manager role will beresponsiblefor direct and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in some or all of the following areas: material planning, distribution, inventory control, material research, purchasing and supply chain management by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

What a typical day looks like:

• Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
• Manages, controls, and directs the activities and staff involved in the distribution of inventory to the production line.
• Manages, controls, and directs staff to achieve Materials profit and loss goals including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
• Ensures the timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost, consistent with quality standards, affecting quality by assuring that suspicious material is identified, and that material is handled, stored, and delivered properly.
• Ensures a high degree of customer satisfaction through negotiations of customer expectations and managing and directing staff activities required to meet this expectation.
• Coordinates with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers.
• Manages controls and directs the actions for excess and obsoletes.
• In charge of accurate inventory cycle counts, and controls.
• Provides for the proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
• Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures and material control systems.
• Reviews, plans, and approves purchase orders and change notices.
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• In charge of disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
• Travel as required.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• BA/BS/MBA in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Strong background in materials planning and purchasing within electronics manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting NPI and sustaining operations, with direct people management responsibilities.
• Experience in automotive, telecom, industrial, or related electronics manufacturing projects.
• Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills; experience with Kinaxis and Agile is highly desirable.
• Ability to interact and influence at executive levels, partnering closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
• Strong negotiation, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
