Continental Group Sector ContiTech in Mexico is seeking a Material Developer to advance rubber compounds for durability and abrasion resistance, focusing on power transmission and conveyor belts.

You will lead development projects, drive cost reduction, and help industrialize new materials with cross-functional teams, while embedding AI-based tooling.

Fluent English and willingness to travel up to 10% are required as you collaborate across global labs, plants, and business functions.

Formación

• Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Material Science or similar fields of study.
• Analytical and scientific workstyle.
• Good international and intercultural communication skills incl. capability to work in a global environment.
• Fluent English language skills (oral and written).
• Willingness to travel (up to 10% of your time).
• Several years of work experience in rubber and plastics industry desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and optimize rubber compounds with the focus on power transmission belts and conveyor belts.
• Lead compound development projects and participate in other R&D projects.
• Drive activities to reduce our compound and raw material cost as well as complexity.
• Drive the ideation and development of new innovative material technologies, with focus on performance, processability, cost efficiency and sustainability.
• Support the industrialization of new compounds in close collaboration with other departments.
• Support troubleshootings related to material topics in close collaboration with plants, quality and business functions.
• Support the creation and implementation of new processes and software applications incl. AI-based tools.
• Maintain the interfaces with internal customers, labs, product development, plants and business functions

• Maintainthe interfaces with internal customers, labs, product development, plants and business functions

• Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Material Science or similar fields of study, preferentially with focus on polymer or rubber chemistry
• Several years of work experience in the rubber and plastics industry desirable
• Outstanding chemical understanding, such as structure–property relationships, designing test plans etc.
• Basic knowledge of rubber materials, compounding and related processing
• Analytical and scientific workstyle
• Self-driven team player with a high degree of ownership and capability to work independently
• Pro‑active and structured problem‑solving mindset
• Good international and intercultural communication skills incl. capability to work in a global environment
• Fluent English language skills (oral and written)
• Willingness to travel (up to 10% of your time)
