American International Group, Inc. (AIG) invites an Underwriting Manager to lead marine reinsurance underwriting for the Latin America & Caribbean region.

You will manage an existing book and develop a pipeline of new opportunities, while guiding a team of underwriting professionals and collaborating across regions to ensure a consistent market approach. You will negotiate terms with brokers and clients, analyze policy wordings, and stay ahead of market trends to maintain a profitable portfolio.

Formación

• Experience in the marine insurance or Reinsurance market.
• Advanced working knowledge of Marine business including product features, forms, regulatory environments and risks.
• Ability to rapidly evaluate, prioritize and select submissions to be underwritten.
• Ability to analyze policy wordings.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current market conditions and how to leverage it.
• Relationships with tier 1 and 2 brokers and ability to develop new relationships.
• Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment making quick decisions while adhering to underwriting discipline.
• Willingness to travel 40% of the time.

Responsabilidades

• Underwriting and managing an existing book of Marine Reinsurance risks and developing and underwriting a pipeline of new business opportunities across LAC
• Managing a team of underwriting professionals
• Collaborating with peers in other regions and providing technical underwriting support on existing accounts in those regions, ensuring a consistent approach to market throughout the region
• Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients
• Communicating our value proposition with our brokers and clients and demonstrating our right to win
• Identifying future industry trends, understand how they will impact ours our client’s business and developing new strategies around those trends
• Communicating to internal stakeholders on the profitability of the portfolio
• Providing superior customer service to brokers and clients.
• Attend client/broker meetings, presentations and relevant industry events on behalf of the company.
• Participating in special underwriting projects as needed.
