Job summary
Trane Technologies in Mexico is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer specialized in compressor assembly to lead line extension projects for the commercial HVAC unit. You will define processes, justify alternatives, support asset procurement, coordinate samples, and transfer work to operations, focusing on scroll and screw compressor assembly.
The role requires hands-on expertise in assembly, automation, lean practices, and cross-functional collaboration with design and operations teams,
Qualifications
- B.S. in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (Master degree preferred).
- Experience in mechanical assembly supported by automation.
- Experience in manufacturing related project management.
- Equipment conceptualization for work with integrators.
- Experience with material handling design and operator aids.
- Leading new product/process redefinition efforts.
- Lean, automation, quality/DFM concepts for manufacturing.
- Validation metrics related to quality, cost, rate, sustainability.
- Project coordination with operations and design for compressor sample builds, launches.
Responsibilities
- Assembly process definition including equipment, work holding, automation, information and material flow.
- Coordinate sample builds early in design phase and provide DFM input.
- Implement assembly, test, finishing, packaging processes and conduct acceptance tests.
- Manage equipment procurement from justification to installation.
- Contribute to manufacturing strategies considering product life cycles and tech.
- Coordinate sample prep tasks with operations, materials, data collection and improvement paths.
- Incorporate industry trends to enable productive, safe processes in compressor assembly.
- Participate in new product introductions or major productivity projects.
- Contribute to safety, productivity and sustainability initiatives.
- Aid product design discussions regarding manufacturing requirements and lean considerations.
