Amphenol TCS de México, S.A. de C.V. in Mexicali is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, implement and support automation solutions across manufacturing processes.

You will lead projects from concept through validation and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure production objectives are met. The role requires a Bachelor's in a related field, 5+ years in automation within manufacturing, proficiency in PLC/HMI, CAD tools, and strong English communication.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of automation engineering in manufacturing.
  • Advanced English communication (written and verbal).
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting automated equipment and controls.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, vision and servo systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks).

Responsabilidades

  • Design, develop, implement and support automation for manufacturing processes.
  • Lead automation projects from concept to deployment and validation.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize automated equipment, PLCs, HMIs, and controls.
  • Provide hands-on production support to resolve equipment issues.
  • Develop and implement preventive actions to increase uptime.
  • Design and modify tooling, fixtures, and automation for productivity.
  • Coordinate equipment installation, qualification and process validation.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering teams.
  • Manage relationships with automation vendors and integrators.
  • Drive continuous improvement for productivity, quality and cost savings.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and work instructions.
  • Support new product introductions and capacity expansions.

Descripción del empleo

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, and support automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
  • Lead automation projects from concept through deployment and validation.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize automated equipment, PLCs, HMIs, and related control systems.
  • Provide hands‑on support to production to resolve equipment and process‑related issues.
  • Develop and implement preventive actions to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Design and modify tooling, fixtures, and automated equipment to improve productivity and quality.
  • Coordinate equipment installation, qualification, and process validation activities.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to support production objectives.
  • Manage relationships with automation vendors, integrators, and equipment suppliers.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, labor reduction, quality, and cost savings.
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, and engineering reports.
  • Support new product introductions, capacity expansion projects, and manufacturing transfers when required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Automation Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting automated equipment and industrial control systems.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, vision systems, servo systems, and industrial automation technologies.
  • Experience developing fixtures, tooling, and automation solutions to support production.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
