Leadership and team development are key priorities for this position, alongside technical experience with cutting and sewing equipment, and facilities maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for production equipment and plant facilities.
  • Maintain the reliability of conveyor systems, seating assembly equipment, torque-controlled fastening tools, torque measurement systems, industrial sewing machines, and Lectra cutting machines.
  • Respond quickly to equipment failures, coordinating troubleshooting and recovery to minimize disruption to JIT/JIS production and customer deliveries.
  • Drive root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions to reduce recurring failures, downtime, and maintenance costs.
  • Coordinate maintenance of building infrastructure, utilities, and support systems, including electrical distribution, compressed air, HVAC, and fire protection.
  • Manage maintenance schedules, spare parts, critical equipment inventories, contractors, and departmental spending.
  • Track equipment availability, preventive maintenance compliance, mean time between failures (MTBF), and mean time to repair (MTTR).
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and EHS on equipment improvements, new installations, launches, and safe maintenance practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven maintenance leadership experience in automotive manufacturing, preferably in cut &sew operations with JIT/JIS delivery requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, develop supervisors and technicians, and manage priorities under production pressure.
  • Hands-on knowledge of:
  • Conveyor systems and automotive assembly equipment.
  • Torque-controlled fastening, torque verification, and related measurement systems.
  • Industrial sewing machines and Lectra cutting equipment.
  • Facilities maintenance and industrial utilities.
  • Experience managing a large equipment base, maintenance planning, spare parts, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills, with working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and automation systems.
  • Ability to work across departments and communicate clearly during equipment failures and production recovery.
Preferred Experience
  • Combined experience in JIT/JIS assembly and soft trim cutting and sewing operations.
  • Maintenance responsibility for a similarly sized operation with hundreds of pieces of equipment.
  • Experience implementing TPM, reliability improvements, and structured technician development programs.\
