Maintenance Manager

Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the plant maintenance organization and ensuring the reliability, availability, safety, and performance of production equipment, machinery, buildings, and facilities. This position will develop and continuously improve the plant maintenance system, with emphasis on preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment reliability, cost control, safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the plant maintenance system.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.
- Drive machinery and equipment improvement projects to enhance reliability, efficiency, performance, and maintainability.
- Analyze equipment failures and downtime to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Establish maintenance standards, procedures, schedules, and best practices.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and strategic direction to Maintenance Supervisors and Administrators.
- Establish training and development programs to improve the technical capabilities and performance of maintenance personnel.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance-related audit requirements, company policies, regulatory standards, and customer requirements.
- Promote and enforce adherence to safety, environmental, and Clean Industry requirements within maintenance operations.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation for all machinery and equipment, including maintenance records, manuals, drawings, specifications, and historical data.
- Ensure equipment and maintenance information is properly maintained within the CMMS or maintenance management system.
- Define, monitor, and improve maintenance KPIs, including equipment availability, downtime, MTBF, MTTR, preventive maintenance compliance, and maintenance costs.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence, cost reduction, equipment reliability, and maintenance effectiveness.
- Oversee building, facility, and utility maintenance activities and improvement initiatives.
- Manage maintenance-related expenditures, acquisitions, spare parts, contractors, and external services within the approved budget.
- Develop and monitor the maintenance budget and identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved resource utilization.
- Manage relationships with maintenance suppliers and service providers to ensure quality, safety, technical capability, and cost effectiveness.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and other departments to support production objectives and plant performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Maintenance Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive industrial maintenance experience, including management or supervisory responsibilities.
- Manufacturing experience, preferably in a high-volume industrial or maquiladora environment.
- Proven experience managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Experience with equipment reliability, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets, contractors, suppliers, and improvement projects.
- Experience supporting safety, environmental, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Experience using CMMS/EAM maintenance management systems.

- Spanish: Fluent.
- English: Fluent, ability to communicate effectively with corporate and technical teams is preferred.
