Placements24 is seeking an experienced Rapid Response Leader for Crisis Humanitarian Operations in a remote-first role. You will coordinate immediate aid, lead assessment teams, and establish field protocols while working with international teams.

The position requires a master’s degree and 8+ years in humanitarian aid, strong budgeting and logistics skills, and fluency in Spanish and English (French/Arabic a plus). Extensive travel to crisis zones is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in humanitarian aid and emergency response, with at least 4 years in leadership roles.
• Experience in rapid needs assessments in diverse cultural contexts.
• Strong knowledge of international humanitarian principles, Sphere standards, and coordination mechanisms.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving under pressure.
• Experience working remotely and managing dispersed teams.
• Fluency in Spanish and English; French or Arabic a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead rapid response teams deployed to humanitarian emergencies, ensuring adherence to protocols and standards.
• Oversee the immediate assessment of needs, including identifying vulnerable populations and critical resource gaps.
• Develop and implement emergency response strategies and operational plans (logistics, security, distribution).
• Coordinate with UN agencies, NGOs, local authorities, and community leaders for integrated action.
• Manage project budgets and resources for emergency operations.
• Provide leadership and support to field staff in high-stress situations.
• Ensure safety and security of all response personnel and beneficiaries.
• Report to HQ on progress, challenges, and key decisions.
• Establish effective communication between field, HQ, and stakeholders.
• Contribute to updates of emergency response protocols and preparedness plans.
