Smartly is seeking a Lead Product Designer to shape the future of our platform by deeply understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities, and defining product experiences that deliver impact. You will lead discovery alongside Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and other Designers, translating insights and complex customer workflows into clear, intuitive product experiences.

Lead Product Designer

As a Lead Product Designer at Smartly, you will help shape the future of our platform by deeply understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities, and defining product experiences that create meaningful impact. You will lead discovery alongside Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and other Designers, translating insights and complex customer workflows into clear, intuitive product experiences.

Our Product Designers are closely involved throughout the product development process. You will work directly with some of the world’s leading advertisers, contribute to AI-native experiences, and help evolve our design system so teams can build consistent, high-quality experiences at scale.

What You Will Do

• Shape the direction of our product experience by identifying high-impact opportunities, clarifying complex problem spaces, and translating ambiguity into actionable product direction.
• Lead design work from discovery through delivery, including research, ideation, prototyping, high-fidelity design, validation, and collaboration with engineering during implementation.
• Work directly with customers to understand their workflows, validate problems and concepts, and test product experiences.
• Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, Researchers, and leadership to align around customer needs, product direction, and shared outcomes.
• Design intuitive products and features that help customers discover value quickly and accomplish complex advertising workflows effectively.
• Contribute to cohesive end-to-end experiences across the Smartly platform, including AI-native product experiences and our design system.
• Mentor and coach other designers, sharing expertise and helping strengthen design practices across the team.

What We Are Looking For

• Strong experience designing complex digital products, with the ability to lead the design process from identifying opportunities through implementation.
• Experience turning ambiguous customer and business problems into clear product experiences and actionable design direction.
• Strong product discovery skills, including customer interviews, UX research, prototyping, validation, and close collaboration with Product Management.
• Ability to communicate design rationale clearly and build alignment across Product, Engineering, Design, Research, and leadership.
• Experience designing sophisticated workflows while making products intuitive to discover and learn.
• Experience in marketing technology or advertising technology is beneficial.
• Experience with front-end development, AI-assisted development tools, or prototyping through code is beneficial.
• Ability and willingness to work from our Polanco, Mexico City office at least three days per week.
