Job summary

Victaulic is seeking a Metallurgist Engineer in Chihuahua to supervise metallurgical processes, lead lab analysis, and drive continuous improvement in casting and metal transformation operations. You will partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Production to optimize productivity and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

The role demands a bachelor’s in Metallurgical Engineering, 8+ years’ experience, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
• English proficiency.
• At least 8 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience in nodular iron manufacturing.
• Experience with in-process molding.
• Knowledge of induction furnace refractory maintenance.
• Experience with sand molding processes.
• Knowledge of statistical tools.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
• Experience with data and trend analysis.
• Experience preparing documentation, procedures, method sheets, and forms.
• Knowledge of geometric and dimensional tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Lead metallurgical analysis, laboratory testing, and material evaluations to ensure products meet specs.
• Identify opportunities to increase productivity and reduce waste.
• Ensure safety, health, environmental, quality standards are met.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Production to resolve issues.
• Mentor personnel on metallurgical processes and requirements.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for management.
• Publish monthly metallurgical and quality analysis reports.
• Provide training and coaching for personnel under supervision.
• Maintain accurate process records and test results; update documentation.
