Job summary

Victaulic in Chihuahua, Mexico, is seeking a Metallurgist Engineer to lead metallurgical processes within the Quality Team. You will supervise production-related metallurgy, analyze metals, and drive improvements across casting and metal transformation operations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Metallurgical Engineering, 8+ years of experience, and strong English proficiency. This onsite position offers growth opportunities and a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
English proficiency.
At least 8 years of experience in a similar position.
Experience in nodular iron manufacturing.
Experience with in-process molding.
Knowledge of induction furnace refractory maintenance.
Experience with sand molding processes.
Knowledge of statistical tools.
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
Experience with data and trend analysis.
Experience preparing documentation, procedures, method sheets, and forms.
Knowledge of geometric and dimensional tolerances.

Responsibilities

Lead daily metallurgical process walkthroughs and ensure metal transformations meet quality standards.
Perform metallurgical analysis, lab testing, and material evaluations.
Identify process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
Ensure safety, health, environmental, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Mentor colleagues on metallurgical processes.
Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations.
