Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead JavaScript Engineer to craft dynamic, responsive web and hybrid-mobile experiences using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js. You will build fast-loading, SEO-friendly interfaces, collaborating with backend, UX, and product teams to deliver polished front-end solutions.

You will lead development, drive performance improvements across desktop and mobile browsers, implement components, and guide UI library growth.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on web development delivering user-facing functionality.
• Minimum 1 year leading and overseeing development teams.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and React for scalable front-end systems.
• Real-world experience with Next.js (App Router or Pages Router) and Server Components.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop fast, responsive web apps using React and Next.js, including SSR, SSG, and API routes.
• Implement mobile-first responsive designs across devices and ensure smooth performance on iOS/Android web views.
• Manage client-side state with Redux, Zustand, or Context API and consume REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Lead code reviews and contribute to growing a shared UI component library.
• Analyze and optimize performance to improve Core Web Vitals and load speeds.

We're in search of a highly skilled Lead JavaScript Engineer who's passionate about crafting dynamic, responsive web and hybrid-mobile experiences. In this role, you'll apply your deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js to produce fast-loading, search-optimized, mobile-first interfaces. Your focus will be on building web experiences that feel just as polished and native as mobile apps, while fine-tuning performance across both desktop browsers and mobile web views, including iOS Safari.
