Job summary

General Motors Corporation is seeking a Launch Operations Group Leader (Temporary) to drive the successful launch of new products, processes, and equipment at the Silao, Guanajuato site. This role operates on a 4x3 rotating 12-hour shift schedule and is a 12-month temporary assignment, on-site in Mexico.

The candidate will support validation, pilot builds, and cross-functional collaboration to meet quality, safety, and production targets, while managing risks and ensuring readiness for launch

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in automotive or manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting product, process, or equipment launch activities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the launch of new products, manufacturing processes, and production equipment.
• Coordinate and track activities related to the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
• Participate in the validation, commissioning, and release of new equipment and machinery.
• Support pilot builds, production trials, and start-up activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, safety, and production requirements are met during launch phases.
• Identify, document, and follow up on risks, findings, and action plans.
• Monitor early production performance and support corrective actions to ensure process stability.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturing, quality, and continuous improvement standards.
• Assist in problem-solving activities related to equipment, processes, and product launches.
• Support readiness reviews and launch milestones to ensure successful program execution.
