Job summary

Parker Hannifin in Mexico is seeking a procurement specialist to ensure timely, continuous supply of direct materials for manufacturing, balancing cost, quality, and inventory while adhering to standards and policies.

The role involves working with planning, production, engineering, quality, and warehouse teams to optimize supplier performance and ensure compliance with safety and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing) or business administration or related field.
• 2 years of experience.
• Authority to release, expedite or cancel purchase orders per demand changes.
• Manufacturing process and supply chain fundamentals.
• MRP/ERP Systems (SAP, JDE or similar).
• Cost analysis, BOMs and inventory control.
• Reading engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Incoterms and domestic/international logistics.
• Excel skills (intermediate to advanced).
• Proficient English.

Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement of direct materials (raw materials, components, parts) and direct materials for the warehouse and planning operations.
• Monitor and follow up on MRP requirements, purchase orders, and delivery schedule to prevent line stoppages.
• Negotiate commercial terms, lead times, and supply agreements with suppliers.
• Work closely with Planning, Production, engineering, Quality and Warehouse teams.
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards and required certifications.
• Manage inventory levels to avoid excess stock or material obsolescence.
• Evaluate and develop suppliers through audits, performance reviews and scorecards.
• Handle supplier claims related to quality issues, late deliveries, or shortages.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, ethical standards, and industrial safety regulations.
• Strictly comply with the company’s defined SAFETY procedures.
• Provide a high level of service to internal and external customers. Work efficiently with team members to resolve problems and consolidate improvements.
• Exhibit strong understanding and commitment to Parker values, the code of ethics, High Performance Team culture, and the WIN strategy.
