Job summary

ESAB in Hermosillo, Mexico, is seeking a materials planner to coordinate the movement of goods through the production cycle and to keep inventory at target levels. You will work with production schedules to purchase materials Just in Time and apply EOQ concepts, while maintaining bills of material and supplier data in ERP systems.

Responsibilities include resolving discrepancies, evaluating vendors, and monitoring subcontract costs and schedules to ensure best value.

Qualifications

• Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle.
• Maintains inventory at planned levels (Just in Time purchases, EOQ).
• Creates and maintains bills of material and parts numbers in systems.
• Evaluates vendor reliability and sources new suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Obtains materials using production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels.
• Resolves discrepancies and approves non-conformances or variances.
• Monitors cost, schedule and scope of subcontracts to ensure best value.
• Develops specs for new contract orders and gathers quotations.
