Job summary

EDAG is hiring a Junior CAD Designer/Drivetrain in Puebla to support engine and powertrain component development from concept to release. You will build parametric 3D CAD models and create 2D drawings, ensuring GD&T compliance and manufacturability.

Responsibilities include packaging studies, tolerance analyses, documentation, BOMs, and engineering change records. Collaboration across design, simulation, testing, and manufacturing teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in automotive engineering, mechatronic engineering, mechanical engineering or related field.
• 1+ year of experience in product development and CAD design.
• Experience in engine, thermal management, or drivetrain component design.
• Advanced 3D modeling and 2D drafting using CATIA and CREO.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, sheet metal forming, welding, forging, plastic injection molding.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• English (C1-C2).
• 3 months contract.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of Engine and Powertrain components from concept through product release.
• Develop and build parametric 3D CAD models according to customer standards
• Create and update 2D technical drawings, ensuring compliance with GD&T standards and manufacturing requirements.
• Design and optimize engine and powertrain components such as brackets, housings, covers, mounting systems, cooling components, piping, and structural parts.
• Perform packaging studies, clearance analyses, and interface checks within vehicle assemblies.
• Support tolerance investigations, feasibility analyses, and design reviews.
• Prepare engineering documentation, technical reports, and design release packages.
• Generate and maintain part lists (BOMs), CAD documentation, and engineering change records.
• Collaborate with design, simulation, testing, manufacturing, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Follow established development processes, design checklists, and engineering standards.
