Job summary

EDAG Engineering GmbH in Puebla is seeking a Junior CAD Designer/Drivetrain to support engine and powertrain development from concept through product release. You will build parametric 3D CAD models per customer standards and generate 2D drawings with GD&T compliance.

You will collaborate with design, simulation, testing, manufacturing and project teams to resolve technical issues and follow established development processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in automotive engineering, mechatronic engineering, mechanical engineering or related.
• 1+ year experience in product development and CAD design.
• Experience in engine, thermal management, or drivetrain component design.
• Advanced 3D modeling and 2D drafting using CATIA and CREO.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• English (C1-C2).
• 3 months contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop parametric 3D CAD models according to customer standards.
• Create and update 2D technical drawings, ensuring GD&T compliance.
• Design and optimize engine and powertrain components such as brackets, housings, covers, mounting systems, cooling components, piping, and structural parts.
• Perform packaging studies, clearance analyses, and interface checks within vehicle assemblies.
• Prepare engineering documentation, technical reports, and design release packages.
• Generate and maintain BOMs, CAD documentation, and engineering change records.
• Collaborate with design, simulation, testing, manufacturing, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Follow established development processes, design checklists, and engineering standards.

DESCRIPTION

• Support the development of Engine and Powertrain components from concept through product release.
• Develop and build parametric 3D CAD models according to customer standards
• Create and update 2D technical drawings, ensuring compliance with GD&T standards and manufacturing requirements.
• Design and optimize engine and powertrain components such as brackets, housings, covers, mounting systems, cooling components, piping, and structural parts.

• Support tolerance investigations, feasibility analyses, and design reviews.
• Prepare engineering documentation, technical reports, and design release packages.
• Generate and maintain part lists (BOMs), CAD documentation, and engineering change records.
• Collaborate with design, simulation, testing, manufacturing, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Follow established development processes, design checklists, and engineering standards.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in automotive engineering, Mechatronic engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related.
• 1+ year of experience product development and CAD design
• Experience in Engine, Thermal Management, or Drivetrain component design.
• Advanced 3D modeling and 2D drafting using CATIA and CREO
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as: Casting, machining, sheet metal forming, welding, forging, plastic injection molding
• Knowledge of GD&T
• English (C1-C2)
• 3 months contract
