Job summary

Scotiabank in Mexico City seeks a Software Developer Manager to lead development and support of web-based Global HR applications. You will work with Technical Leads, Developers, Analysts and QA to deliver high-quality solutions through full SDLC.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software development, strong Java/Spring Boot experience, cloud familiarity (Anthos, Atlas or Azure), and a track record mentoring peers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as a software developer.
• Extensive experience in object-oriented software design and development.
• Proficient with Java-based technologies, including Web Services and Cloud platforms, supporting frameworks, and UI tools.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Strong experience in Java Spring boot, database design and development.
• Understanding of cloud-hosted environments like Anthos, Atlas or Azure is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of service-oriented architecture and relational databases.

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships.
• Collaborate with teammates to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web-based business applications built on Java technologies.
• Develop and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
• Mentor team mates on Java-based technologies and software development architectures frameworks.
• Work with teammates to support Java applications and deliver new requirements.
• Develop, refine, and tune continuous integrations between applications.
• Analyze and resolve technical and application defects with excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale.
