Placements24 is seeking an experienced Ingeniero Residente de Obra Civil to oversee a major construction project in Cuernavaca, Morelos. You will manage daily on-site activities, coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety and quality, and deliver the project in accordance with plans, specifications, and budget.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree, 7+ years of site supervision, strong leadership, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in site supervision and civil project management.
• Proven experience as Ingeniero Residente on significant construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, and contracts.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a leading infrastructure development firm, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Ingeniero Residente de Obra Civil to oversee a major construction project in Cuernavaca, Morelos . This vital role is responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of the project on-site, ensuring it is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all technical specifications and contractual obligations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, a comprehensive understanding of civil engineering principles, and a proven ability to manage site operations, subcontractors, and quality control. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules.

• Implement and enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies on the construction site.
• Monitor and control project costs, ensuring work is performed within the allocated budget.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and identify potential issues or deviations from the plan.
• Review and approve daily work reports, material submittals, and change order requests.
• Maintain accurate project records, including progress reports, site diaries, and photographic documentation.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies to address project-related matters.
• Resolve on-site conflicts and technical challenges promptly and effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all permits and local regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in site supervision and project management of civil engineering projects.
• Demonstrated experience as an Ingeniero Residente on significant construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, equipment, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding project deadlines.
• Valid professional license as an Ingeniero Civil in Mexico.
