SKF Group in Mexico is seeking a materials engineer to act as a local knowledge hub, developing and improving materials, and performing characterization and product analysis. You will support design, quality and manufacturing teams across projects.

Responsibilities include advancing material technologies, testing, and collaborating with the PTD team to drive technical developments while ensuring timely delivery and compliance with specifications.

Formación

  • University degree in chemistry, materials engineering or a related field.
  • Advanced English proficiency; visa and passport required.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for USA training.

Responsabilidades

  • Support exploration and validation of materials and related manufacturing technologies.
  • To develop and improve materials and related manufacturing processes.
  • To collaborate with PTD team to support technical developments.
  • To follow the development of internal and customer projects, by actively participate as project team member.
  • To perform advanced material characterization and testing according to procedures and specifications.
  • To support manufacturing units to solve quality issues, reduce scrap and improve productivity (OEE).
  • To manage material suppliers related to quality level and improvement activities (in collaboration with quality department).
  • To operate and perform maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • To create technical training packages.
  • To train, supervise, support and coach technicians and trainees.
  • To contribute to the development of the department personnel through company processes or direct feedback

Conocimientos

Sealing materials knowledge
Research & development experience

Educación

University degree in chemistry or materials engineering

About the Role

Qualifications
  • University degree (chemistry, material engineering or similar)
  • Valid VISA & Passport
  • Availability to travel (training in the USA)
  • English level: Advance (Direct report to USA)
Required Skills
  • In depth knowledge of sealing materials (thermoplastic elastomers, rubbers, high performance plastics)
  • Experience in research, technology & product development
