Continental Group Sector ContiTech is seeking a Chemical Raw Material Developer (engineer) to join the central R&D team in Mexico. You will guide the development and consolidation of chemical raw materials for ContiTech products, focusing on cost, performance, supply chain stability, and sustainability.

You will establish supplier collaborations, evaluate materials for product applications, and drive cross-functional projects across regions, ensuring timely delivery and technical excellence.

Formación

• Academic degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or similar.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure target-oriented steering and consolidation of the chemical raw materials portfolio.
• Find and develop alternative chemical raw materials for ContiTech products worldwide.
• Establish partnerships with raw material suppliers and negotiate specifications.
• Support troubleshooting and maintain operational excellence for chemical raw materials.
• Manage projects or task forces in chemical raw material development.
• Evaluate materials in product-related compounds.

As part of the central R&D, you are part of the Chemical Raw Material Development team. Your key task will be:

Responsibilities

• Ensure target orientated steering and consolidation of material portfolio for chemical raw materials based on different requirements (e.g. cost, performance, supply chain stability, sustainability)
• Find & develop alternative chemical raw materials for current ContiTech product portfolio worldwide
• Establish key technical partnerships with raw material suppliers & negotiate technical raw material specifications worldwide
• Ensure operational excellence and support trouble shooting for chemical raw materials
• Management of projects or task forces in the area of Chemical Raw Material development
• Evaluation of materials in product related compounds
• Technical contact for purchasing, supplier dev., quality management and supply chain management as well as suppliers for chemical raw materials topics-
• Drive strategic topicssuch as sustainability for raw materials

Qualifications and Experience

• Academic degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar.
• 3+ years of experience in related field is required.
• Knowledge and experience in development of rubber, elastomers, composites, or similar materials; including testing and data analysis
• Experience in rubber, composites, or plastic production processes favorable
• Strong analytical skills - problem solving, decision making, data classification, examination of correlations, etc.
• Strong customer-oriented thinking, ownership, and collaboration skills
• Sense of urgency in completing projects on time and effectively
• Intercultural fluency – Ability to work with people from different cultures around the world
