Swoon seeks an Advanced Materials Research Scientist to join its R&D team in Piedras Negras, Coahuila. The role focuses on developing innovative materials and translating research into industrial manufacturing applications.

PhD required with 4+ years in advanced materials R&D; industry experience preferred. You will work across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to scale new materials and contribute to IP. English proficiency is essential.

• PhD required in a relevant science/engineering field.
• 4+ years of advanced materials R&D experience.
• Industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with material characterization techniques (DSC, TGA, FTIR, SEM, or similar).
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE) and data-driven experimentation.
• Experience supporting scale-up, process development, or commercialization is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

• Document findings and contribute to innovation, including IP where applicable.

An established global industrial manufacturer is seeking an Advanced Materials Research Scientist to join its growing R&D team in Piedras Negras, Coahuila. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing innovative materials and translating research into products used in real-world industrial applications.

What You'll Do

• Conduct research and develop advanced materials, including polymers, composites, ceramics, metals, or related material systems
• .Design and execute experiments to evaluate thermal, electrical, mechanical, and microstructural properties
• .Analyze test results and identify opportunities to improve material performance, reliability, and manufacturability
• .Support the development of new material formulations and help transition research from the laboratory into manufacturing
• .Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, product development, and supply chain teams to bring new technologies to market
• .Document technical findings and contribute to innovation initiatives, including intellectual property where applicable

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.
• 4+ years of experience in advanced materials research and development.
• Industry experience is strongly preferred.

Compensation:

Competitive compensation package, with a target rangeof up to MXN $60,000 gross per month based on experience.
