Job summary

Flex is seeking a Software Automation Engineer in Guadalajara, tasked with designing, developing, and implementing software that connects manufacturing equipment to enterprise systems. You will build robust data flows, APIs, dashboards, and IIoT solutions to enhance visibility and automation across production lines.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, index data with Elasticsearch, and help drive digital transformation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
• Mid seniority in industrial software development focused on machine data, connectivity and system integration.
• Proficient in Python, C#, or Java with industrial applications.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and MSSQL databases.
• Experience with industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, Profinet, EtherNet/IP).
• RESTful API development and implementation.
• Knowledge of IIoT principles and implementation.
• Familiarity with visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Understanding of MES concepts and data processing / ETL techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software that connects manufacturing equipment to enterprise systems using industrial protocols.
• Create and maintain database applications and stored procedures for production data.
• Develop and implement RESTful APIs for system integration.
• Configure and troubleshoot data acquisition from PLCs and automation controllers.
• Design dashboards to provide real-time production insights using Tableau or Power BI.
• Index and search manufacturing data with Elasticsearch.
• Collaborate with automation engineers to implement IIoT solutions.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes for data transformation and loading.
• Document interfaces, API specs, and system architectures.
