The Indirect Sourcing Lead is responsible for managing and coordinating indirect procurement activities that support manufacturing operations, facilities, maintenance, engineering, and capital projects. This role leads the review, prioritization, and execution of purchase requisitions and purchase orders for MRO materials, indirect goods and services, CAPEX investments, and operational requirements while ensuring compliance with company purchasing policies, budget controls, and business objectives.
The position serves as a key liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders, driving supplier performance, purchasing efficiency, cost optimization, and operational continuity. The Indirect Sourcing Lead partners closely with Maintenance, Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely procurement execution and support plant objectives.
The Indirect Sourcing Lead is responsible for leading the execution of indirect procurement activities that support plant operations and strategic business initiatives. This role reviews, prioritizes, and manages purchasing requirements for MRO materials, indirect goods and services, CAPEX projects, and urgent operational needs while ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures and budget requirements.
Key responsibilities include managing the requisition-to-purchase order process, coordinating supplier quotations, supporting commercial negotiations, expediting critical orders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services. The position works closely with Maintenance, Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and other functional teams to clarify requirements, resolve procurement issues, and support project execution.
The role monitors purchasing performance through key metrics such as backlog management, purchase order cycle times, supplier delivery performance, service levels, and CAPEX project status. Additionally, the Indirect Sourcing Lead drives supplier accountability, supports contract and commercial discussions, and identifies opportunities for cost savings through supplier consolidation, standardization, strategic sourcing initiatives, process improvements, and cost avoidance programs.
This position also provides functional guidance to buyers, MRO coordinators, and internal stakeholders regarding purchasing processes, approvals, budget controls, plant priorities, and sourcing best practices. Success in the role requires strong prioritization skills, excellent stakeholder management, supplier relationship management, and the ability to balance operational urgency with sound procurement practices.
