Amphenol Communications Solutions in Mexicali, MX is seeking a Buyer responsible for strategic procurement, supplier relationships, and supply chain activities to ensure timely and cost-effective material acquisition for manufacturing operations.

The role involves negotiating with suppliers, developing sourcing strategies, and supporting inventory optimization while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery. Advanced English and ERP/MRP experience are preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Business, SCM, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related role.
• Experience negotiating with domestic and international suppliers.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing preferred.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, logistics, and cost analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Manage procurement for materials, components, equipment, and services to support manufacturing operations.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers for continuity of supply.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, lead times, and other commercial agreements for best value.
• Create and monitor purchase orders in line with policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse teams for production.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and resolve supply chain issues impacting schedules.
• Maintain supplier records, contracts, pricing databases, and procurement docs.
• Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, material availability, and cost drivers.
• Support inventory management with material availability and optimization goals.
• Drive cost reduction, productivity improvement, and supplier development initiatives.

Position Summary

Responsible for the strategic management of procurement, supplier relationships, and supply chain activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, equipment, and services required for manufacturing operations. The Buyer develops sourcing strategies, negotiates commercial agreements, monitors supplier performance, and supports inventory optimization while maintaining the highest standards of quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Manage the procurement process for materials, components, equipment, and services required to support manufacturing operations.
2. Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers to ensure continuity of supply.
3. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, lead times, and other commercial agreements to achieve the best overall value.
4. Create, process, and monitor purchase orders while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
5. Coordinate with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse teams to support production requirements.
6. Monitor supplier delivery performance and proactively resolve supply chain issues that could impact production schedules.
7. Maintain accurate supplier records, contracts, pricing databases, and procurement documentation.
8. Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, material availability, and cost drivers to support sourcing decisions.
9. Support inventory management initiatives by balancing material availability with inventory optimization goals.
10. Drive cost reduction, productivity improvement, and supplier development initiatives.
11. Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies, ethical sourcing practices, and regulatory requirements.
12. Prepare and present procurement reports, supplier evaluations, cost-saving results, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, International Business, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related role.
• Experience negotiating with domestic and international suppliers.
• Experience in the electronics manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, logistics, and cost analysis.
