Job summary

EarnIn, a pioneer in earned wage access, seeks a senior backend engineer to own always-on production services and drive the design, development, and operation of our money movement systems. You will work cross-functionally in a hybrid Mexico City office, with opportunities to travel to Mountain View and engage AI-enabled workflows daily.

The role emphasizes reliability, real-time processing, and collaboration with data science, product, and analytics teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years delivering software in a collaborative environment.
• Experience with microservice architectures.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Datadog).
• Hands-on experience using AI coding productivity tools in daily work.
• Proficient in at least one modern language; currently C#.
• Hands-on SQL database experience.
• Experience with CI/CD tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication during incidents.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Experience with financial systems, payments, or ledgers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features for money movement systems.
• Own the health of the services you build: on-call rotations and incident response.
• Use AI tools in design, coding, testing, debugging, and incident response.
• Improve reliability via monitoring, dashboards, and runbooks.
• Debug production issues across services stack.
• Design robust microservice integrations via REST/gRPC APIs and messaging.
• Create and maintain test automation to enable CI/CD velocity.
• Mentor engineers through code, design and architecture reviews.
• Collaborate with data science, design, product, finance, accounting, and analytics.
• Work with distributed systems and produce high-quality code.
