Job summary

EarnIn is seeking a senior software engineer to own always-on money movement services in a hybrid role based in Mexico City. You’ll design, build, test, and operate backend services that move billions of dollars and rely on real-time and scheduled transfers across multiple rails.

AI tools are part of daily workflows and engineering practice. You will collaborate across data science, design, product, finance, and analytics to ensure reliability, auditability, and scalable growth while

Qualifications

• Experience supporting live, production services and on-call incident handling.
• 4+ years delivering software in a collaborative environment.
• Experience in micro-service architectures.
• Proficient with monitoring observability tools (e.g., Datadog) and improving service reliability.
• Hands-on with AI coding/productivity tools in daily engineering work.
• Proficient in at least one modern language (C# currently) and able to learn more.
• Hands-on with SQL databases.
• Experience with CI/CD tools.
• Experience writing functional/integration tests.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, especially during incidents.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Experience with financial systems, payments, or ledgers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features; break down complex problems into elegant designs.
• Own service health: on-call rotation, incident response, blameless postmortems.
• Use AI tools in design, coding, testing, and incident response.
• Improve reliability with monitoring, dashboards, and runbooks.
• Debug production issues across multiple stack levels.
• Design and deliver robust micro-service integrations (REST/gRPC, messaging).
• Create and maintain test automation for CI/CD velocity.
• Mentor engineers via code/design/architecture reviews; support operational readiness.
• Collaborate with data science, design, product, finance, and analytics.
• Work with distributed systems and deliver high-quality code with care.
