Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc is seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer to manage rapid recovery of technology-delivered services from disruptions. The role covers live incident resolution, problem management, and driving automation within a hybrid work setting in Mexico.

You will work across Java-based tech stacks, SQL databases, Unix shell scripting, and monitoring tools, ensuring ITIL-aligned processes and robust incident response.

Qualifications

• Root cause analysis of major system problems based on business operations requirements.
• Strong understanding of technology layers in application landscape, storage, network, database and application.
• Experience with Java and Level 1/2 production regional/global support.
• Proficiency with Unix command line and Shell scripting.
• Knowledge of SQL and Oracle PL/SQL.
• Troubleshooting Java, SQL and Stored Procedures in ServiceNow.
• Familiarity with ITIL concepts, Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Control M, and with WebSphere/Liberty/Microservices/Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Provide full scope of day-to-day Production Support including resolving live incidents and post-resolution problem management.
• Participate in crisis calls and provide workarounds/resolutions.
• Contribute to automations and new production support concepts.
• Ensure compliance with Group Policy and best practices.
• Create batch plans and support weekend releases; manage production changes.
• Review, design and re-engineer processes with new technologies to improve performance.
