Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Product Engineer in Mexico to drive product engineering initiatives, collaborate with global design centers, and resolve design, quality and process challenges across the plant. You will ensure alignment with design standards and regulatory requirements while leading new product introductions and engineering changes.

Key duties include maintaining master data, BOMs and drawings; supporting Kaizen events; and driving cost reductions and product improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with engineering change control processes, BOMs and drawing revisions.
• Strong HVAC/thermal engineering background (Chillers preferred).
• Excellent English communication (written and oral).
• Knowledge of control systems and electrical diagrams.
• Experience with new products and process introductions; familiarity with lean manufacturing.
• Self-starter with ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Implement product engineering initiatives aligned with corporate policies and target costs.
• Collaborate with global design centers to incorporate launches and enhancements into specifications and procedures.
• Work with plant departments to identify root causes and solutions for design, quality, supplier, product or process issues.
• Ensure release information for manufacture aligns to global design standards and current requirements (AHRI, ASME, PED, ETL & UL).
• Lead new product introductions from the engineering side and manage engineering changes to products.
• Maintain master data, BOMs and engineering drawings; support Kaizen events and cost-reduction projects.
• Provide technical assistance across Materials, Quality, Engineering and Safety.
• Evaluate material specs and standards; propose improvements.
