Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Mechanical Engineer focused on HVAC product design. You will contribute from concept to release, support changes, and ensure designs meet HVAC performance, manufacturability, and documentation standards.

Responsibilities include developing complete HVAC solutions, updating drawings and BOMs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to move designs through release and validation. A strong foundation in ASHRAE, thermodynamics, and DFMEA is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering required.
• 4+ years in mechanical design for HVAC products.
• Proficiency with CAD tools AutoCAD/Creo and Windchill.
• Solid understanding of ASHRAE standards and HVAC fundamentals.
• Experience with BOM creation and engineering changes.
• Knowledge of DFMEA and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Design and support complete HVAC product solutions and assemblies.
• Prepare and update drawings, BOMs, and change documentation.
• Review mechanical requirements for AHUs, VAVs, FCUs, fans, and related parts.
• Develop 3D models with CAD and optimize for manufacturability.
• Coordinate with design, production and stakeholders through release.
• Support prototypes, testing, and design improvements.
• Provide sheet metal part/assembly guidance and documentation.
