Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Disciplinary Engineering Group Head to supervise and coordinate design teams for high voltage substations. The role includes resource allocation, subcontractor management, and ensuring compliance with state-of-the-art standards.

You will lead design, integration, and testing activities, while supporting procurement and interfacing with partners and suppliers to optimize budgets and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience designing substations control and cabinets in EPC environment.
• Familiarity with substation layout and industry regulations.
• Proficiency with design and simulation software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for multidisciplinary teams.
• Basic project management skills to manage priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate control, protection, distribution, telecom, and monitoring of HV substations.
• Initiate and support procurement of equipment.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for integration.
• Oversee commissioning and testing of low voltage systems.
• Provide technical support to customers and project teams.
• Manage team workload.
• Decide to manage design in-house or subcontracted; select/evaluate subcontractors.
