EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Chief Backend Engineer to lead the backend development of our Internal Developer Platform (IDP) built on Backstage.

You will own the design of scalable backend plugins and microservices, ensuring resilient services and productive developer experiences. You will mentor engineers, drive API and security standards, and integrate Git, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Argo Workflows to boost platform capabilities across international teams.

Formación

7+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience.
A minimum of 2 years directing and managing development teams.

Responsabilidades

Oversee design and delivery of Backstage backend plugins and services that drive essential platform features.
Assume full responsibility for backend architecture covering the catalog, scaffolder, workflows, and APIs, with an emphasis on scalability and reliability.
Plan and implement developer workflows along with automated pipelines designed to increase engineering output.
Develop RBAC frameworks, authentication mechanisms, and service-to-service security controls to protect platform data and resources.
Lead the ongoing design and enhancement of a scalable microservices-based architecture.
Provide mentorship to team members and promote the adoption of sound engineering standards across the organization.
