Job summary

Corning in Mexico is seeking a Technical/Mechanical Lead for global automation projects within the Division Engineering organization. You will lead delivery of new automation equipment, drive process improvements, and support cost-reduction initiatives across manufacturing plants.

The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external integrators, strong mechanical design capability, and willingness to travel domestically and globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years mechanical design, automation integration or manufacturing experience.
• Learn, develop, and advance technical skills in mechanical design, process equipment development, and system integration.
• Experience with CAD tools and visualizing concepts, processes, and system requirements.
• Ability to travel domestically and globally; valid passport.

Responsibilities

• Provide process and mechanical design expertise in support of new equipment & system introductions, continuous improvements, cost reductions, maintenance, and productivity improvements.
• Interface with external system integrators and machine builders to deliver integrated automation equipment on-time and on-budget.
• Participate in all project phases from initiation to production start-up and technology transfer.
• Ensure design packages are complete and conform to Corning standards.
• Prepare technical specifications for automation equipment in line with PRIME guidelines and deployment playbooks.
• Collaborate with project teams to resolve automation issues and develop understanding of technical requirements.
