Job summary

KIA Mexico is seeking a General Accounting leader to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with IFRS, NIF, tax regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements while supporting business decisions and corporate finance consolidation.

The role leads the accounting team, coordinates audits, and collaborates with cross-functional departments to drive timely closes and robust financial processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (CPA preferred) or related.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Mexican Accounting Standards (NIF), and local tax regulations.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, financial statement analysis, and accounting controls.
• Minimum 2-3 years of people management experience, demonstrating leadership and decision-making capabilities.
• Advanced SAP FI knowledge; SAP S/4HANA experience is highly desirable.
• Advanced English proficiency with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
• Review financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, provisions, and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, NIF, SOX requirements, and local tax regulations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and act as the main contact for corporate finance consolidation and cross-functional departments.
• Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team, making key operational and financial decisions, setting priorities, assigning responsibilities, and ensuring achievement of departmental objectives.
