Job summary

Sonepar México & Caribe is seeking a Fixed Assets Accountant to maintain accurate asset records, compute depreciation, and support internal controls in our Mexico City finance team.

You will collaborate with GL and audit teams, handle month-end activities, and look for process improvements while ensuring compliance with accounting policies.

The ideal candidate has a degree in accounting and 1–3 years of fixed asset experience, plus fluent English and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3+ years of Fixed Asset Accounting or related functions.
• Solid understanding of depreciation, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
• Proficiency in Excel and general accounting tools.
• Fluent English in written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fixed asset records for acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and retirements.
• Calculate and record depreciation expenses for accurate reporting.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including non-standard adjustments.
• Support month-end closing activities and timeliness.
• Manage prepaid expenses schedules and amortization entries.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls.
