SSOE, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support the design, BIM modeling, coordination, and delivery of fire protection systems for industrial, commercial, and manufacturing projects.

Working under senior engineers, you will apply fire protection principles, BIM/Revit tools, and applicable codes to produce quality design solutions and construction documents. This role blends Fire Protection Engineering fundamentals with strong BIM capabilities, serving as a technical contributor

Formación

• Very good English written and verbal ability.
• Knowledge of NFPA 10, NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NOM-002 and NOM-026.
• Experience with fire protection design and BIM modeling, including hydraulics and standpipes.

Responsabilidades

• Develop fire protection designs and construction documents for sprinkler systems, standpipes, pumps and related components.
• Create and coordinate Fire Protection BIM models in Revit, including pipe routing and equipment layouts.
• Perform clash detection and support BIM coordination with multiple disciplines.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for hose station systems and assist with sprinkler and seismic brace calculations.
• Apply NFPA, NOM, clients, and project standards to design activities.
• Assist with site visits, field surveys, material take-offs, bidding support, and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical training and study groups.
• May participate in client coordination meetings and project execution efforts.
• May conduct site visits, field surveys and existing condition assessments.
• Valid driver's license required.
• May write portions of specifications and assist in preparing design and construction cost estimates.
• Job may require use of AI or similar digital technology.

ThisFire Protection Engineer will support the design, BIM modeling, coordination, and delivery of fire protection systems for industrial, commercial, and manufacturing projects. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this Engineer applies fire protection engineering principles, BIM/Revit tools, and applicable codes and standards to produce quality design solutions and construction documents.

This role combines Fire Protection Engineering fundamentals with strong BIM/Revit modeling capabilities, serving as a technical contributor responsible for developing coordinated fire protection designs, supporting engineering calculations, and progressing toward independent project execution and technical leadership

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

• Develop fire protection designs, drawing packages and construction documents for sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire pumps, water tanks, fire hydrants, hose stations, and underground fire water systems under supervision.
• Create and coordinate Fire Protection BIM models in Revit, including pipe routing, equipment layouts, schedules, and multidisciplinary model coordination.
• Perform clash detection and support BIM coordination activities with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Process disciplines.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for hose station systems and assist with sprinkler and seismic brace calculations.
• Apply NFPA, NOM, clients, and project standards to design activities.
• Assist with site visits, field surveys, material take-offs, bidding support, and project documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers, maintain project logs, and contribute to technical training and study groups.
• May participate in client coordination meetings and support project execution efforts.
• May conduct site visits, field surveys and existing condition assessments.
• Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.
• May write portions of specifications and assist in preparing design and construction cost estimates.
• Job may require use of AI or similar digital technology to perform the job function

Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electromechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 or more years of direct experience in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Design, BIM Modeling, or related field
• Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal) required.
• Knowledge of basic fire protection design principles, including automatic sprinkler and standpipe systems
• Knowledge of NFPA 10, NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NOM-002 and NOM-026 requriments.
• Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Ability to read Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and ELectrical drawings.
• Understanding of fire protection systems and construction documentation
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering enviroments.
• Minumum experience using computer-aided design and/or BIM required for the fire protection system design (AutoCAD and Revit).
• Travel required
