Hyatt Centric in Mexico’s Quintana Roo seeks an Interim Financial Controller to oversee the hotel’s financial management and accounting operations during the interim assignment. Reporting to the General Manager, you will manage monthly statements, budgeting, cash flow, internal controls, and partner with department leaders to drive operational and financial performance.

This role demands hands-on leadership with strong attention to detail and ownership.

Formación

• 3+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• Strong understanding of hotel financial operations, including revenue flows and reporting structures.
• Experience with Opera, POS systems, and accounting platforms.
• High level of accuracy with ownership over financial results.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee hotel accounting and financial operations (AP, AR, payroll coordination, GL, financial reporting).
• Prepare monthly financial statements, forecasts, and annual budgets with accurate P&L reporting.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting aligned with hotel operations and ownership expectations.
• Partner with General Manager and department leaders to provide financial insights for decisions.
• Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and daily cash positioning for the property.
• Oversee billing, collections, revenue reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with brand-related financial obligations and reporting requirements.
• Support financial systems, chart of accounts, and financial workflows for efficient operations.

Job Summary

The Interim Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s overall financial management and accounting operations throughout the interim assignment.

Reporting to the General Manager, this role oversees day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and internal controls, while serving as a key business partner to the leadership team and supporting sound operational and financial decision-making.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented finance leader who values ownership, structure, and operational excellence, with the ability to quickly integrate into a select-service hotel environment and ensure continuity of financial operations.

Job Duties

• Oversee the hotel’s accounting and financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, general ledger, and financial reporting.


• Prepare monthly financial statements, forecasts, and annual budgets, ensuring accurate and transparent P&L reporting.


• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with hotel operations and ownership expectations.


• Partner with the General Manager and department leaders, providing financial insights to support operational decision-making and hotel performance.


• Establish and maintain effective internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.


• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and daily cash positioning for the property.


• Oversee billing, collections, credit processes, revenue reporting, night audit oversight, and balance sheet reconciliations.


• Ensure compliance with brand-related financial obligations, reporting requirements, fees, and standards.


• Support financial systems, chart of accounts, banking structure, and financial workflows as needed to ensure efficient and accurate operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience within a hotel or hospitality environment.


• Strong understanding of hotel financial operations, including revenue flows, departmental expenses, and financial reporting structures.


• Experience with hotel systems such as Opera, POS systems, and accounting platforms.


• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for financial results.


• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach.


• Ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for operational teams.


• Sound professional judgment, integrity, and discretion when handling financial matters.
