Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering professional to coordinate new product introductions and the implementation of engineering changes using APQP and PPAP methodologies. You will ensure production readiness, product quality, and compliance with customer requirements.

On-site role based in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León, Mexico, requiring a minimum of 2 years in manufacturing or related engineering, with English at an intermediate level and strong problem-solving skills.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • English proficiency at an intermediate level.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, project engineering, or cylinder product operations.

Job Summary

Coordinate new product introductions and the implementation of engineering changes by applying APQP and PPAP methodologies, ensuring production process readiness, product quality, and compliance with customer requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Participating in identifying and implementing enhancements and modifications to equipment and processes.
  • Lead implementation of Engineering Changes and CPI.
  • Monitoring equipment and process reliability; identifying and addressing problem areas.
  • Analyzing engineering change notices, determines any part or process change, initiates and implements all changes.
  • Providing engineering support on planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, or facilities.
Education requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Intermediate English-speaking level.

Collaborative Automation
  • Lead and support the implementation of Engineering Changes (ECNs) and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) initiatives across manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, develop, and implement equipment and process enhancements that improve operational performance.
  • Provide engineering support to operations, maintenance, quality, and production teams to ensure successful execution of manufacturing initiatives.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking
  • Analyze engineering change notices to determine required part, tooling, equipment, or process modifications and effectively implement changes.
  • Evaluate equipment and process performance data to identify improvement opportunities and support informed decision-making.
  • Assess manufacturing challenges and recommend solutions that improve reliability, quality, and productivity.
Manufacturing Processes
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, project engineering, or cylinder product operations.
  • Provide technical engineering support for the planning, development, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, processes, and facilities.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.
Lean Manufacturing
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement activities focused on reducing waste and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Lead and execute CPI initiatives that improve manufacturing performance and process standardization.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize equipment utilization, process flow, and production effectiveness through Lean principles.
Problem Solving
  • Monitor equipment and process reliability, identify problem areas, and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Investigate manufacturing and process issues, determine root causes, and drive sustainable solutions.
  • Support troubleshooting activities and provide technical recommendations to minimize downtime and improve operational reliability.
Additional information:
  • Location: Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon (On-Site 100%)

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday 6:24am - 5pm, (subject to changes; availability for shift changes, weekend coverage: one weekend per month based on staff rotation).

  • <10% of working time will be domestic & international travel.

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.
