Flex is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Engineer to support our manufacturing teams in Guadalajara, South Campus. The role emphasizes maintaining precision measuring instruments, calibrations, and preventive maintenance to ensure high-quality production.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in equipment maintenance in manufacturing, strong PLC and automation knowledge, and excellent English communication. Occasional travel to other Flex sites or vendors may be required.

Formación

• Typically requires an associate degree in Engineering or related field.
• Typically requires 3+ years of related experience in equipment maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of programming and industrial automation systems.
• Experience with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and PTH (Plated Through-Hole) processes.
• Strong understanding of automation equipment, PLCs, sensors, and production control systems.
• Experience developing and implementing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance plans.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and computerized systems troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience in equipment calibration, testing, and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
• Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoots and identifies machine malfunctions and isolates failure mechanisms.
• Repairs failure mechanisms in cost-effective ways.
• Performs preventive maintenance at scheduled intervals.
• Performs calibrations and re-qualifications on equipment at intervals.
• Assists process technicians and engineers with installation and removal of process equipment.
• Researches and implements corrective action reports and process tracking.
• Records times and problems in equipment logs.
• Provides daily equipment functioning information.
• Sets up laboratory equipment to test, evaluate and calibrate instruments.
• Disassembles instruments and inspects components for defects.
• Aligns repairs and balances component parts and circuitry.
• Devises formulas to solve measurement and calibration problems.
• Assists engineers with test, calibration, repair and evaluation plans to maintain precision.

Job Summary

• Through troubleshooting, identifies machine malfunctions and isolates the failure mechanism.
• Repairs the failure mechanism in the most cost-effective manner.
• Performs preventive maintenance at specified intervals and schedules.
• Performs calibrations and re-qualifications on equipment at specified intervals and schedules.
• Assists process technicians and engineers with the installation and removal of process equipment.
• Researches and implements corrective action reports and process tracking mechanisms.
• Records times and problems in equipment logs.
• Provides daily equipment functioning activity information.
• Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
• Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.
• Aligns repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry.
• Devises formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations.
• Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.
• May require travel to other Flex sites or equipment vendors' locations.
• Highest level may perform both software and hardware maintenance.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team

• Typically requires an associate degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, military technical training, or equivalent education and training.
• Typically requires 3+ years of related experience in equipment maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of programming and industrial automation systems.
• Experience with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and PTH (Plated Through-Hole) manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of automation equipment, PLCs, sensors, and production control systems.
• Experience developing and implementing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance plans.
