Job summary

Celestica Global Automation (CGA) is seeking an entry-level Developing Controls Engineer in Monterrey, Mexico. You will build foundational automation concepts, gather requirements, and support cross-site engineering tasks.

You will contribute to both turnkey projects and in-house control developments, learning to design basic PLC logic, configure HMI layouts, and collaborate with global teams under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Automation Engineering.

Qualifications

• Entry Level: 0 to 2 years of relevant experience or solid academic project background in industrial automation, control systems, or mechanical design.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, Computer, or Robotics Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Conduct shop-floor process audits and gather technical data to baseline cycle times and identify automation bottlenecks.
• Author URS and SOW protocols to validate new automation concepts.
• Evaluate vendor technical proposals and benchmark Turn-Key solutions against Celestica standards.
• Assist in designing and programming basic control architectures and PLC logic routines.
• Track procurement and import logistics for control hardware and sensors.
• Support FAT and SAT protocols during commissioning.
• Participate in weekly global team calls and cross-site engineering syncs.
