Job summary

Justworks in Mexico City is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers, balancing hands-on coding with mentorship. You will coordinate projects with design and product, set priorities, and drive delivery of customer-focused features.

You will champion strong communication, foster collaboration across teams, and guide career growth for engineers while aligning with our product roadmap and company values.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience managing a team of engineers.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to prioritize, craft, and achieve plans in coordination with product teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with Engineers, Design, and Product Managers to prioritize, schedule and execute projects.
• Partner with Product to define and execute the team’s long-term strategy and quarterly roadmap.
• Coordinate with other teams to understand requirements and opportunities for improvement.
• Mentor engineers to grow technical skills and foster technical excellence.
• Provide guidance, both technical and non-technical, to direct reports.
• Attract, hire, develop, and retain a high-performing team of engineers.
• Drive sound technical decision-making and lead conversations with other teams.
• Instill a sense of empathy in the team for internal stakeholders to improve user experiences.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
