A leading automotive supplier in Mexico is seeking an experienced Launch Engineer to lead and coordinate new product launches for complex components like airbags and steering wheels. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive industry and expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring production readiness, and maintaining customer communications. Own transportation is required to access the plant, and relocation assistance is not provided.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and coordinate new product launches.

• Ensure production readiness including tooling and process validation.
• Monitor and resolve issues during pilot builds.
• Support APQP activities.
• Coordinate with customers regarding launch status.
• Implement continuous improvement actions.
• Report to the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience with launch of complex components or systems (e.g., airbags, steering wheels or seatbelts).
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience working directly with OEM customers.
• Minimum 3 years in automotive industry as Launch Engineer handling airbags, steering wheels or seatbelts manufacturing.
• Automotive industry expertise is a must.
• Must have own transportation to access the plant; relocation assistance not provided.
• Strong drive, innovation, and resilience to work with a multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate new product launches from pre‑production through full‑scale manufacturing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain.
• Develop and track launch timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Ensure production readiness, including tooling, equipment, and process validation.
• Monitor and resolve issues during pilot builds and early production phases.
• Support APQP activities and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Coordinate with customers (OEMs) regarding launch status, risks, and issue resolution.
• Implement continuous improvement actions to stabilize production after launch.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and cost targets.
• Report to the Operations Manager.
