RGP in Mexico City seeks an Accounting Policy & SOX Controls Consultant to support the Controllership team on divestiture initiatives. You will document accounting impacts, develop matrices, and assess controls through the project lifecycle.

You will liaise between Accounting Policy and business stakeholders, ensuring compliance with Mexican standards and SOX, and help identify gaps and remediation efforts with ICFR focus.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of experience in Accounting Policy, Technical Accounting, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, SOX or related areas.
• Strong understanding of ICFR and SOX requirements.
• Proven experience with complex accounting transactions and account analysis.
• Strong working knowledge of Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF).
• Experience preparing accounting assessments, matrices and technical documentation.
• English proficiency

Responsabilidades

• Support the Controllership function in identifying and communicating accounting and control considerations related to divestiture initiatives.
• Partner with Accounting Policy and business teams to gather, analyze, and clarify accounting information and requirements.
• Provide guidance regarding accounting concepts, account mappings, and financial statement impacts to stakeholders with varying levels of accounting knowledge.
• Develop and maintain accounting matrices documenting transaction flows, account impacts, and accounting treatment.
• Assess the impact of business and process changes on internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and SOX compliance requirements.
• Support the documentation of key processes, risks, and controls associated with divestiture activities.
• Coordinate with Finance, Accounting, Risk, and Internal Controls teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control frameworks.
• Identify control gaps and support remediation efforts when necessary.
• Assist in preparing supporting documentation for internal and external audit reviews.
